Sanjay Dutt’s gratefulness

Sanjay Dutt of Dus Kahaniyaan, who has many times been in the news for all the wrong reasons, also donates his time and money to various charities in the city. It was heard that on Saturday evening, Dutt issued a cheque of Rs 1.28 lakh to Satish Devkar. Satish is a peon working with a telecom company in the city, had to perform the surgery of his six-month-old daughter Shravani, who was born with a cardiac defect. The story goes that Devkar, who is a Mumbai Central resident, had recently approached Dutt and told him about his daughter's illness that is she had a hole in her heart and that he was unable to arrange funds for her surgery. The surgery involves expenses of nearly Rs 2 lakh and Devkar had only managed to collect Rs 64,000. Dutt readily promised help.
Shravani's mother Kalpana is thankful and cannot express gratitude to the actor enough. She said that Sanjay Dutt has helped them in a big way and they were very thankful to him. She informed that Shravani would be operated at Wockhardt Hospital in Mulund later this week.
Dutt, when contacted, declined to mention about his contribution. But his business manager Dharam Oberoi said that Dutt has always been a generous donor but he never talks about his good deeds. An employee of Dev Anand's wife is suffering from cancer. He had sought help from Dutt and the actor organized money for the lady's treatment.
The actor is one of the regulars of the Spastic Society of India, Save The Children and SUPPORT (Society undertaking rehabilitation for poor people), which runs a rehabilitation center for drug addicts, and also supports orphanages and old age homes.
