Ghajini collects 4 million USD

Ghajini movie of Aamir Khan is distributed by Big Pictures. It is in news that Big Pictures are successful in distributing the film in around 22 countries in the world. COO of International Film Business, Big Pictures said that the film’s opening in the Middle East and North America has set new records….. He also added that Ghajini collected 1.4 million USD in North America in its opening. In the Middle East America, Ghajini collected around 0.9 million USD.
Apart from these regions the film will also open in Myanma, Uganda, Malaysia and Morocco in the next coming weeks. Right now Ghajini has made its opening in UK, Ireland, Norway, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, New Zealand, Fiji, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. In all these regions Ghajini has broken all the previous records!!!
It seems that crowd in overseas are actually looking for quality action films from India. But this is happening very rarely in India nowdays. Instead of focusing on such quality movies most of the producers are going for the TRP films….Nowadays producers are very much interested in making comedy movies that can make money…..

Katrina Kaif and John Abraham were not on talking terms it seems for a long time. But now they overcame this spat and have started talking to each other. It sounds strange to know that their equation of uncomforting was not because they disliked each other. But it was because of Katrina’s boy friend, Salman Khan and John’s girl friend Bipasha. John and Salman don’t see eye to eye since July 2006’s matter. Similarly Katrina and Bipasha couldn’t stand each other.

Every Dog has his day!!!

Lately, when Sandhya Mridul was in London shooting for Kaun Bola of Arshad Warsi, a dog gave them a terrible fright. After the shoot wrapped up, Sandhya, along with Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Dia Mirza, was walking along the dockside. This is an area along the banks of the River Tyne in Newcastle in North East England. All of a sudden a vicious dog baring his pointed tooth appeared in front of them. There was nothing but Boman and Arshad’s vigorous humor that saved all of them.
Before they could react the big scary Rottweiler was in front of them. They just froze. And Boman was so scared that he hid behind Sandhya and Arshad.
But he had his sense of humor unbroken even at that time! He suddenly cried out saying, Maree gayu, ye kutta toh gadheda chhe.
Arshad was at his dramatic best; addressing the dog he said that - Arrey apna screen play band kar aur hame jaane de!!!!!!!!!

Darsheel of Taare Zameen Par learned a lesson!

Success always comes at a heavy price. Lately, Taare Zameen Par starrer Darsheel learned this lesson from the incident that took place at Ooty when Darsheel was shooting for Percept Picture Company's film, Bam Bam Bole. The film is a remake of Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's film, Children of Heaven.
It happened so that the film's shooting was stopped for three hours just because Darsheel was wearing a certain brand' T-shirt. One would think that there is nothing unusual if a child is wearing a certain brand's t-shirt. But that wasn't the case. Darsheel is the brand ambassador of another children's wear brand. And the brand managers created a commotion when they saw Darsheel wearing a different brand's T-shirt.
Needless to say, the managers of the brand felt that Darsheel should only wear their clothes and not their competitor's clothes as Darsheel has an exclusive contract with them. They told the producer in no uncertain terms that they can't go ahead with the shoot until they make changes in the scenes which were already shot earlier in the day.
The representative of the children's wear brand is always around Darsheel wherever he is shooting. During the shoot, the representative was sitting outside but when he saw the scenes later he immediately put his foot down.
Darsheel was puzzled. Actually, he was shocked. The poor boy didn't know where to look or what was happening,
The issue was only resolved when Percept promised the representative that they will not have Darsheel wear the competitor's T-Shirt in the film. The producers had to shoot the four scenes all over again.

Sachin impressed by Aamir’s Ghajini physique!!

Some days ago Sachin Tendulkar saw Ghajini posters and he could not resist admiring Aamir Khan’s fit body. He was so much delighted by the physique that he saw in the posters that he called Aamir and told him that his body looked too good to be true. He actually thought that Aamir’s body was digitally enhanced. But Aamir told him that he has actually worked on his body and it is not digitally enhanced. Sachin was not ready to believe this. He said Aamir that he has seen him for quite a long time as Aamir has attended Sachin’s several matches. Though he has met Aamir so many times he said that he didn’t notice Aamir’s this type of physique.
Currently Aamir Khan is in Hyderabad and so he has offered Sachin to meet him and clear all his doubts if he is still not ready to accept that he was really worked out for the build. Sachin has accepted this and has assured him to meet as soon as possible to make it clear. Not only this, but Sachin has also asked Aamir to give him some body building tips. But Aamir says that already Sachin has got a nice physique so he doesn’t require any of the body building tips. He is also planning to arrange a special screening for Sachin Tendulkar to prove himself!!!

Finally after eight long years Ekta Kapoor has made her decision to wind up Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi serial that was telecasted on Star plus Channel. Yesterday that is Thursday 10.30 pm was the last show, it seems for the serial.
This long serial lasted for seven years. This show generated aspirant saas-bahu tales and rotated implausible plots around human emotions. Also topics like fright, rebirth, and offers adieu after losing a court battle to Star Plus. The warped story of the traditional Virani family kept audiences across India and abroad glued to their television sets Monday-Thursday since its launch in October 3, 2000. It is true that people used to sit and watch this serial though the serial used to create almost non sense twists. There were many cases that took place because of the serial. Ladies of the houses watched the serials and started treating their in laws in the same manner. Costumes worn by the actors and the actresses in the serial were copied blindly by the public. Not only costumes but also the style of putting sindoors and bindis was imitated!!! Central character of Kyunki…., Smriti Irani aka Tulsi became a household name all over India and abroad too. The show went through a five generation leap through the years.

Salman Khan has struggled to accomplish a six pack abs for his upcoming and ambitious film Veer. Veer movie is produced by Vijay Galani and Eros International. This movie is directed by Anil Sharma and music is given by Sajid Wajid. It is known to be a period musical love story.
It is said that Salman wanted a warrior look for this film and he had to wait for 15 years to make this film. When the film was finalized he read the script and worked on the script of this film. After much thinking Salman decided that he will have long hair and a spectacular looks.
When he went to London, he followed a strict diet and exercise regime. He complete completely gave up rice. He used to eat boiled chicken and proteins only. He gave up oily and fried stuff. The results are there for everyone to see now.
Vijay Galani who is the producer of this film said that when he had signed Salman, they had not decided on the script or the director. He just signed him since he wanted to work with him and Salman gave him the idea of making this film. He knew that the film had a huge canvas that needed a lot of pre-production work. Then Anil Sharma came on board and they did research and decided on their shooting locations.
The film is set between 1860 and 1900 and they traveled all over the country to look for a story. Then they decided to make a film on the Pindari tribe from Rajasthan which did not give in to the British rule. Salman plays a member of that tribe. After much discussion they also decided on this look with long hair. Salman has worked very hard on his body and his look. They are all set to shoot the film now. The film will be completed by April or May next year and will be shot in various parts of India with a major schedule in London.

Shilpa Shetty’s sizzling item song in Dostana

Shilpa Shetty misplaced all her luggage while she was on her way to Miami to shoot for the film, Dostana. It is known that she lost all her seven suitcases at London airport where her flight had stopped for a few hours. When asked about it she said that imagine losing all that one has carried for a long stay abroad. It was quite maddening situation for her. It wasn't just her bags that were lost but even her entire staff's bags were misplaced. It was terrible.
She lost everything, right from all her basic requisites to creams, shampoos, conditioners, and of course her clothes. She had to buy each and everything from cosmetics to clothes within a day as she had absolutely nothing left with her and still had to carry on with her professional commitments. Fortunately, she wasn't carrying her Dostana costumes designed by Manish Malhotra.
Shilpa will now be seen in a sizzling item song in Karan Johar's production Dostana , which is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani. In the song, Shilpa will be seen on Miami's scenic beaches and emphasize of the number is a scene in which Shilpa is on a bike. Once the song ends, Shilpa starts describing the film's subject by introducing the film's two lead actors, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.
But, Shilpa has taken the unpleasant incident with a pinch of salt. She laughed and added that it was quite a scene at the airport as all the passengers were stranded without luggage. She didn't know if she would ever see her belongings again. Only when she was done with the shooting schedule in Miami she came to know that they had traced her luggage. :)

Golmaal Returns controversy between the actresses!

Found a new case controversy because of a project having multiple heroines. This has happened with the actresses casting in Golmaal Returns. Golmaal Returns stars Anjana Sukhani, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Kareena Kapoor are quite unhappy. The reason behind this unhappiness is that Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision of Golmaal Returns is focusing on Kareena Kapoor only in their promos. Celina, Anjana and Amrita are quite disappointed that they are not even seen in the posters of Golmaal Returns.
Amrita being Kareena’s friend is not able to say anything about this but is displeased for sure. Celina said that she was aware that this thing will happen and she has a done her best in the film. She was sure while saying that she guesses that they will soon come up with more posters which will show her too!! Amrita also said the same that she knew it from the beginning that at the end it will be Kareena’s film before it is their.

And when a thought-provoking theme such as this one comes straight from the heart, it holds a special place in my mind-scape as it has filled my world with so many colours!

Black and White Story - Professor Rajan Mathur, resides in Delhi with his activist wife Roma. He comes across a young boy Numair Qazi who introduces himself as a victim of communal riots in Gujarat. Feeling pity, Rajan offers him shelter in his house and soon becomes close to him. Little does Rajan know that Numair is actually a suicide bomber commissioned by a Muslim fundamentalist group to blow up the Red Fort in Delhi on 15th August during the Independence Day celebrations?

Nanhe's sister tells the reason behind Sarda wanting Nanhe to get educated because Sarda was an illiterate and so Nanhe's father took advantage of it and sold the whole property. One day while going somewhere Nanhe and Raja helps a car to come out. Nanhe meets Bobby Deol and can't believe it. Nanhe tells him to meet at Ghadisar Lake and Nanhe will come to meet him. Bobby keeps on waiting but after sometime goes away. Nanhe goes to meet Bobby but Bobby has gone away. Nanhe learns something’s from Bobby. At the end Nanhe realizes that Bobby canceled the shooting which was going to take place in Jaisalmer due to some reason and Nanhe was talking with Bobby which was his imagination. At the end Nanhe now Vikram Singh meets the real Bobby in Mumbai. Everything ends happily.

Rajiv Sanghvi, the producer of the movie titled Vighnaharta Shri Siddhivinayak said that there are many Bollywood stars that are devotees of Siddhivinayak. So when they decided to make the movie, they thought of taking in all the people who are devotees of the deity.
He also clarified that the Sachin is not acting in the movie. Sachin and his wife Anjali will be shown performing an aarti in the Siddhivinayak temple
Of course Sachin was their main focus in the movie as he is a famous cricketer and an inspiration for the country’s young people. Just before Sachin left for the Sri Lanka tour, they exposed the idea of making the movie with him. He readily agreed. It seems that they have started shooting from this week. The shoot should be over by September 5. They haven’t scheduled the movie for release during Ganesh Chaturthi as they feel that many people won’t have the time to watch the movie then. So they have decided to release the movie during Diwali. The leading actors are Parmeet Sethi and Divya Dutta, and they are also planning to rope in other prominent actors like Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar. Rajiv Johri has written the lyrics and the music has been composed by Anil Mohile. The soundtrack will feature Udit Narayan and Shankar Mahadevan. Ganesh Acharya has agreed to do the choreography of the film. Most important thing of all is that all the actors are doing the project free of cost.
To add to the star factor, Amitabh Bachchan is doing the narration, says director Yashwant Ingavale. It is certainly not going to be a regular Bollywood film. It’s not a devotional film either, but will convey a strong message to the audience. It’s about the miraculous experience of the devotees. He also said that Madhur Bhandarkar’s Page 3 who gave him the idea for the film. This is his debut Hindi movie. Earlier he has assisted Madhur Bhandarkar, and when he asked him to make this movie, he couldn’t help being enthusiastic.
Trustees from the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai say that the idea for a film on the deity has been floating about for a while now. Subhash Mayekar, chairman of the Siddhivinayak Temple Trust said that there were many devotees who actually suggested that there should be a movie made on Lord Ganesha. It was then that one of their regular visitors, Rajiv Sanghvi, decided to make a film, which would feature Sachin in a cameo. As Sachin is also one of the regular visitors to the temple, he couldn’t say no and readily agreed. They have taken permission from the temple authorities and will shoot some part of the movie in the temple premises.

A television show inspired by Sarkar is coming up. It is known that a family drama is set against the background of the underworld. It tells the story of a true waaris for the position created by some senior don.
It is the story of Rudra Pratap Singh whose role is played by Ashish Vidyarthi, an aging mafia don. This Rudra is married to Yashodhara played by Indira Krishnan who has two sons, Shankar (Iqbal Khan) and Shaurya (Yuvraj Malhotra). Gayatri (Shilpa Shinde) is Shankar's wife and Rucha Gujrathi plays Shaurya’s girlfriend.

He said that Waaris is the story of a family that does not deal with drugs or contract killings. It is the family that fights for the right cause.
Iqbal Khan is doing the role of Shankar in this show where he is the eldest son. He is obedient and loyal to his father. But he is also stubborn with an out of control temper. He will react 500 times more strongly than original Iqbal would. He would probably kill a person in a fit of anger.
He also said further that he is a competent actor and the character too is not that complex. He is aware that he is not a very good actor but he knows his job. They don’t get sufficient time to do any research since it's a daily soap.
It is a very nice experience working with the production house, Ugraya. Smriti is a person, who gets creatively involved in her projects. As for Ashish, he is a fantastic actor and before each scene, they discuss it and give our best shot. Choona Hai Aasmaan was not promoted right. It changed track and did not stick to the Air Force background. He had told everyone when he joined the show that he would quit if the track lost focus and so he moved out of the show.
Iqbal says that reality shows are good to watch. He keeps on getting offers but he is not comfortable doing them. Someday, he would love to host a show.

Producers want the copyright period raised to 100 years

In an offer to guard the works of greats like Raj Kapoor, Satyajit Ray, Guru Dutt, Bimal Roy and Kamal Amrohi and all other great filmmakers, the film industry is going all out to hold on to copyrights. In the adjustments hunted on the Copyright Act 1957, the Producers’ association has made a strong appeal to extend the copyright period of cinematic works. The association wants this act to be amended in such a way that no third party can make use of any filmmaker's product for at least 60 years after the death of the filmmaker.
A few days ago, Yash Chopra, Amita Sarkar (from FICCI), Suparn Sen (Secretary, Film Federation of India) and Ravi Vallapa (United Producers Forum) met the officials from the Human Resources Development Ministry in Delhi to put in an appeal. After huge arguments and counter-arguments, the HRD Ministry and the Guild members arrived at a consensus that the present 60 year-period should be increased to 100 years.
When contacted, Suparn Sen she said that they did have a meeting with HRD Ministry officials. They have requested them to increase the period by 40 years. But they haven't heard from them yet. It is unfair that classics like Awara, Shree 420 and other films should go into the public domain. According to Pahlaj Nihalani, A film should always remain the sole property of its maker. And same assumes producer Ratan Jain.

Aamir Khan had no hint that a personal party was going on at Salman’s house to bring in Katrina’s birthday. It was a private ceremony and only Salman’s family members had got together for a little celebration at Salman’s residence in Galaxy Apartment at Band Stand. Arbaaz Khan as well as Salman’s sister Alvira had brought a cake. Apart from them, Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri and designer Rocky S were also there at the dinner party. Salman called Aamir at around 1.30 am and asked him to come over. Aamir immediately gratified. When he reached Salman’s house he was surprised to see that a party was on in full swing.
Aamir wished Katrina and spent some time with all of them. Salman then showed him some of his recent paintings, and Aamir loved them. In fact, only Salman and Aamir went to the rooms and had a long chat. Aamir was impressed with Salman’s creativity. Sallu immediately took a pen and paper and made a sketch of Aamir in his Ghajini look. Aamir was present there for about four hours and was seen leaving the Khan residence at 5.30 am on Wednesday morning.”

It is known that Zeenat Aman will be a judge on Ekta Kapoor's reality show "Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket which is to be aired on 9X. Ekta has been so sweet. Zeenat has watched her grow up in front of her. She is happy that her first foray into television is for her, though she must admit that she doesn't watch much TV.
But every time she’d run into Ekta's mom - and that is once a year - she'd tell her to please let them know when she is ready for television.
The former beauty queen, who has starred in many memorable Bollywood hits, has been offered a number of soaps in the past, which she declined to do. TV does take a lot of time. Very honestly, she wasn't willing to invest the amount of time it required. And her priority has always been her family. But this time she was approached with such an enthusiasm that she just couldn't say no. She admitted that Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket requires a more pronounced level of commitment than the average reality show. This is a reality show about discovering new talent and needs to be treated with special care. She is willing to go that extra mile for it. Misunderstanding between Harman and Kareena solved

Harman Baweja, who is assaulting into the film world with the much talked about futuristic film ‘Love Story 2050’, said that he has cleared out his problems with Kareena Kapoor created by formulated remarks. He said that he was surprised and humiliated after reading reports about him making hurtful remarks about Kareena. The remarks attributed to him about Kareena being 'mechanical' in her performances had upset Harman.
He added that he would never speak like that about anyone, least of all someone who is a senior (colleague) and was gracious enough to work with him when he was just starting out. That she finally opted out of 'Love Story 2050' doesn't take away from the fact that they got along really well. Harman's distress ended while he was in Delhi for an event. On an urge he sent an SMS to Kareena, telling her how dreadful the words attributed to him about her made him feel.
Kareena, who is known to be in the US shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala's ‘Kambhakt Ishq’, reportedly replied back in a long sincere message, saying that she has been a part of the film industry long enough to know how such things work.
She is also said to have ended her message by assuring Harman she had no hard feelings towards him and was looking forward to see his film that releases Friday.
Harman is relieved and overjoyed that the matter has been sorted out.

It is heard that three months ago, Katrina Kaif of Nanhe Jaislamer bought a big bungalow in London for her family. Though she has made Mumbai her base, she is born and brought up in London with her mother and nine sisters. Her family has already moved into their new home.
Katrina’s very spacious bungalow is located in the Hampstead area of London. From roles that were only an adjunct to the heroes, she has progressed as an actress in the top bracket. But, she is not the type to spend her money unwisely. She decided to invest wisely by buying a house for her family. Her mother and sisters originally lived in a small apartment, which was not too comfortable for such a large family. So Katrina wanted to buy a bigger house for them. It’s the least; she felt she could do for them. She misses them very much, back in Mumbai. When contacted, Katrina did not deny that she has purchased a bungalow in Hamstead area of London. Though she told that the bungalow is a very beautiful, she refused to give any further details and said that she would prefer not to talk about it, it’s a personal affair.

Khullam Khulla Pyaar Karen movie stars Govinda and Preity Zinta in its lead role. He decides to take advantage and settles there. Damania's daughter Priti Zinta in the role of Priti, later falls in love with him. Vicky reaches home hobbling with torn clothes, he tells his father that he didn’t reach Gujarat, as he was unconscious for few days after the accident. Vardhaman realises that a fraud is living at Damania's house. They immediately leave for Gujarat with guns and men to kill Raja.

Opinions for Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi of Sooraj Bharjatia

There are very few producers who add in inputs from the crew of the film. So it was a pleasant surprise when Sooraj Barjatya invited the entire cast and crew of his film, Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi, for a special screening, and asked for their opinion on the film. The film was screened at a private theatre in Rajshri Production’s office at Prabhadevi. The entire cast and crew were given a note-pad and a pen to jot down their observations and opinion. Before the screening began, it was announced that everyone must note their suggestions, and if they were found suitable, they will be incorporated in the film. When contacted, Sooraj Barjatya confirmed that they took their crew’s opinion. They also did a similar exercise once the script of the film was finalized. At Rajshri they believe that it is vital to take everyone’s opinion, be it an assistant or a technician.
As a producer, he should know if the film has touched people’s soul or not. What could be a better way of finding this out? He tells his crew honestly that he wants to hear their opinion, and they give him an honest feedback. If he will not consider his crew’s opinions after asking them for it, then all he will get will be sugarcoated lies. They are all together to make a good film and his crew understands that. Speaking about the changes done so far in Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi, he said that a technician pointed out one editing error and that has been now corrected. As a result of another technician’s observation, one scene has more background score now. There will be many more changes by the time the film finally releases around October-November. Barjatya goes a step further. According to him the families of the cast and crew will also get to watch film so that they can estimate how much the film will appeal to the entire family, or to their female audiences. Barjatya’s assistant Kaushik Ghatak directs Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi. This movie stars Sonu Sood and Ishaa Koppikar.

Sanjay Gupta disappointed by Chamki Chameli

It is heard that Sanjay Gupta had to drop his dream project - the stylized musical opera on celluloid Chamki Chameli. This musical fantasy was supposed to transpose Georges Bizet’s legendary opera Carmen to the Rajasthani deserts. Reportedly, Gupta needed a glamorous actress for the title role, and he approached four to five top actresses but they turned the role down because the protagonist is a negative character.
Disappointed with the outcome of Chamki Chameli, Gupta said that the casting was not up to the mark.
Chamki Chameli is the greatest failure of his life. There are about 40 versions of the opera and he is trying to create one of his own. He wishes they had the resources to create a new star for Chamki Chameli.

Speed movie depicts the story of Sandeep Malhotra who comes to London to persuade his girlfriend to give him another chance to show his love for her. In the meantime, Siddharth, a stealthily MI5 agent, receives a CD, which contains the recording of his abducted wife, Richa, and is asked to follow the instructions. But soon he realises that he is being used as a weapon to murder the Prime Minister of India on his London tour. Richa in the meantime is planning to escape. Her only ray of hope is the telephone call she’s accidentally made to Sandeep. As Sandeep decides to help Richa, his girlfriend threatens to break up again. But, Sandeep is now hell-bent on rescuing Richa no matter what happens.

Vivek Oberoi and Apoorva Lakhia not getting along

Supposedly, Vivek Oberoi is not too happy with his role in Apoorva Lakhia's upcoming movie titled Mission Istanbul. It is heard that lately, Oberoi and Lakhia have spaced out absolutely. Now, Vivek is not on talking terms with Lakhia, who gave him a new lease of life with Shootout At Lokhandwala at a time he most needed. But still, Vivek has not stopped shooting with Lakhia and is completing the film in all respects. Vivek being professional is going through the remaining work on the film quite smoothly. Talking about the equation between Lakhia and Vivek reaching the lowest point, it was known that the problem started sometime ago when Vivek suddenly started feeling that Zayed Khan has been given more value in the movie and its publicity, and thus, a cold war ensued.
Lakhia and Vivek did not come together much at an awards event held in Bangkok in the first week of June. The two also had a disagreement recently. It was also known that Vivek called up Sunil Shetty who is the co-producer of Mission Istanbul to complain and that was the last straw. He complained that he deserved more prominence in the publicity, as he is a bigger star than Zayed Khan. Currently Vivek is shooting for his solo song that is a follow up on Ae Ganpat song on Apu’s set at the Film City and they are having a blast. It appears that wanting to safeguard his film, Lakhia was only slightly forthcoming. He said that Mission Istanbul has two lead actors, and they are publicising it accordingly. Oberoi has not spoken about his discomfort to him yet. Mission Istanbul is being co-produced by Popcorn Productions and Balaji Telefilms.

It is heard that Neil Nitin Mukesh has been traveling in style lately. He has bought a Segway. It's a brand new purchase. He bought it barely four days ago from a distributor in Delhi. So, what made him buy a Segway? Neil said that he would be using the machine mainly to travel from the shooting location to the vanity van. Often, they shoot in places where vanity vans cannot be parked close to the sets. At such times, they have a walk a fair amount, to go to the sets. So a Segway will be very handy and quick. The thought of buying a Segway occurred to him when he was surfing on the Internet last month. It's very adventurous to travel by this machine. But then, he is an adventurous person. Neil has decided to use the Segway from tomorrow, while shooting for Kabir Khan's film that is produced by Yash Raj Films. But has he learnt to balance himself on the machine? Neil said that he has. He started practicing on it as soon as he bought it. After getting on the machine, he has to bend forward to move forward.
And bend the body backwards if wanted to go in the reverse direction.

He persuaded Lakshmi and Jag Mohan that Raj Bahadur was killed in an automobile accident and they left the village. The marriage of Lalita, (Mala Sinha) Man Mohan's other daughter couldn't be sanctified, as the dowry wasn't paid in full. One Jeebanand volunteered to marry her but the police appeared on the scene before the complete rites was over as he was a wanted. Man Mohan dies of shock. When Raaj returned to the village, his wife and son had disappeared. Raaj felt that Pran was responsible for this. What happens does he find his wife and Son?

Mahesh Bhatt not moving ahead with movie Suicide Bomber

As we all know that with the failure of the Emraan Hashmi starrer Awarapan and Dhoka that was directed by daughter Pooja Bhatt, the viciously frank Mahesh Bhatt has learnt his lesson. He has learnt that Indian audience is tired of stories, which are being told from the perspective of Muslim fundamentalists.
Consequently, Mahesh has shelved Suicide Bomber, which was supposed to be the debut film of his son Rahul. Confirming that Rahul’s debut film will not be Suicide Bomber, Mahesh said that Vishesh Films would launch him in a very big way now. They are not going ahead with Suicide Bomber. The failure of Awarapan and Dhoka has taught him that people don't want to see films that tell you why Muslim fundamentalists are what they are.
The story line of Suicide Bomber was very much on those lines. In the film, Rahul played the son of a Pakistani father and an Indian mother. He resides in London and later turns into a Muslim fundamentalist due to the events, which occur, in his life post 9/11.
In fluffy times films, which help you to escape into a fantasize world, work at the box-office, whereas realistic films don’t. Subhash Ghai’s recent film, Black & White didn’t do well despite being a decent film. However, they might make Suicide Bomber later but only for the Western audience. Mahesh’s brother, Mukesh, too confirmed and said that they are not making Suicide Bomber.
Buzz is that Anurag Basu backing out of the project is one more reason why Bhatts are not making Suicide Bomber. When asked about this, Mukesh said that Anurag Basu was supposed to direct it, but later, he developed cold feet due to some reason. Then, he got busy with Rakesh Roshan’s film, Kites. They could have gone ahead with some other director, but then, they decided to put the project on the back burner.

But, the neighborhood is soon in chaos over her, and wants her to leave immediately. The only solution is that Preeti marry Avinash. She agrees to do so, but to her dismay finds that Avinash has two children. And then the police arrest Preeti under the charge of prostitution, on a complaint filed by none other than Avinash’s dad.

Gulzar back with his films

Gulzar who is forty-seven years ago veteran lyricist and poet had penned his first script but he had shelved it. Sanjay Gupta, who was busy preparing Gulzar’s biography, stumbled upon it and wanted to make the movie. Sanjay is assumed to direct the film under his banner, White Feather Films. The film is expected to be made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore.
When contacted, Sanjay Gupta confirmed the news and said that he was busy preparing Gulzar’s biography when he happened to mention this script to him. He read the two-line story description of the film and was really excited! It was brilliant, of course. He rang him up immediately, woke him up from his sleep, and told him that they are definitely making this film! Gupta further said that this would be the biggest film of her life, he told him. He is all charged up about making the film, and is surprised that Gulzar didn’t make the film earlier. He doesn’t want to reveal anything about the film, as the pre-production will take a long time. All he could say was that it is a period film about the partition. Titled Pathan, it is based on the Northwest frontier province. He is currently in Hyderabad working on his film Acid Factory, after which he will complete Alibaug, and then begin working on Pathan.
The pre-production work, though, has already begun.

Mahesh Bhatt and Mahima impersonated on Facebook

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was in a shock when his dentist, Dr Chetan Pradhan, walked up to him during a party, a few days ago and said, ‘It was nice to see you on Facebook.' Dr Pradhan was stumped when Bhatt told him that he has not registered himself on Facebook. That’s when Dr Pradhan realised that he had been chatting online with a complete stranger. When contacted, Dr Pradhan confirmed the news and said that this happened recently. Somebody is posing as filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt on Facebook and talking to the world. It’s extremely dangerous.
On retrospection, Dr Pradhan admitted that he did sense that he was not talking to Mahesh Bhatt, but he chose to ignore it. He explained that he started talking to the man who claimed that he is Mahesh Bhatt on Facebook over the last 10 days. However, this man did not seem to know much about him, which he found funny. But, he did not probe any further for the simple reason that the account had Bhatt saab’s face and he thought it would not be right to push the questions too far.
Dr Pradhan says that he had a similar experience with Mahima Chaudhary on Facebook. Mahima is also his patient and that’s how he understood that somebody was only claiming to be Mahima on the site. Mahesh Bhatt said that this so-called technology of today’s world is hazardous. It creates illusions. It can simply undo all the good work they have done by sending out wrong information and messages. It’s a wake-up call for celebrities.

Mahima too confirmed the story and said that somebody is impersonating her on Facebook. Some people have told her that they have been talking to her on the site and she has definitely told them that she has neither the time nor the inclination to go on Facebook.

Tanuja Chandra coming up with a movie having an unpublished story

Hindi author Kamna Chandra, who wrote the screenplay of Raj Kapoor’s Prem Rog and Yash Chopra’s Chandni, has written a film for her daughter Tanuja Chandra. The film is an intense love story set in a small town in north India and will feature Rajeev Khandelwal in the lead. Tanuja also confirmed the news and said that this is an unpublished story and very expensive to her mother’s heart.
This is the first time that her mother is writing a film for her and there’s no particular reason why she hasn’t written for any of her earlier films. When she wrote Prem Rog and Chandni, Tanuja was too young to make films. Even when she wrote 1942 A Love Story for her brother-in-law Vidhu Vinod Chopra, she wasn’t ready to take the thrust. However, her mother had saved this story for her so that she could utilize it whenever she wanted to. It is quite a precious gift from her mother.
Was it the critical acclaim of Aamir that made Tanuja to sign on Rajeev Khandelwal as the film’s lead man? Tanuja begs to differ. She said that long before Rajeev made his big screen debut in Aamir, he stood out among the multitude of television actors. She remembers she had seen him in some soap while surfing and had asked who he was. Now of course, in Aamir, he has shown how effortlessly he can blend into the character. But besides that point, he’s just the actor that she requires in her film.
While Rajeev is hugely kicked with Tanuja’s passion for her work, he has requested her to move the story’s time frame from the 1970s-80s to the current times. Rajeev confirmed the news saying that he has requested Tanuja to counterpoise the story, so as to make the film accessible to a wider section of audience from the current generation. It’s a story with unending universal relevance. The film will be shot in a sleepy scenic town like Ujjain or Bhopal.

Keemat

In Keemat movie, Dev (Akshay Kumar) and Ajay (Saif Ali Khan) are two good for nothing boys living in the city of Mumbai. Both are orphans brought up by a chronic alcoholic (Avtaar Gill). They are small timers dreaming of big times and coming up with several schemes to become rich. One such idea by Ajay is to simply find a rich girl make her fall in love and then marry her. After the marriage he intends to become an in-house husband and live off his wife’s riches, and enjoy life forever. Dev & Ajay zero down on a girl who they think is very rich, Sharmilee (Raveena Tandon). Sharmilee, with similar idea, in reality is a two-bit con woman who eventually falls in love with Dev. One day Ajay picks a young mans pocket. The man Mohan (Ravi Kissan) decides to chase Ajay, during which he killed in an accident. When Dev & Ajay open the wallet they find a letter through which they realise how important that money was for Mohan’s family. Feeling pangs to guilt they decide to go to Mohan’s home in Badlapur & return the money to his family. On meeting Mohan’s father Dinanath Tripathi (Anupam Kher), a schoolmaster and mother (Moushami Chatterji), they are unable to tell the truth. Mohan’s family accepts them as their own, their son’s best friends. In course of time they become the entire family and village’s beloved. Ajay also finds his love in the same village, a girl called Mansi (Sonali Bendre). Will the family ever come to know about Mohan’s death? When they do, how will they treat Dev & Ajay, whom they have come to love as their own sons? What will be the “KEEMAT” (PRICE) that Dev & Ajay pay in order to regain their love and trust forms the crux of the story.

Vivek and Abhishek will now share screen space

It is heard that Vivek Oberoi and Abhishek Bachchan are now easy enough with each other to be able to share screen space. They seem to have forgiven, and are ready to forget too. The two have agreed to dance together for an item number in Apoorva Lakhia's upcoming film, Mission Istanbul. Zayed Khan will also be part of the song.
It may be recalled that Vivek was involved with Aishwarya Rai before she got married to Abhishek. Vivek and Abhishek had passionately refused to shoot in the same frame in Lakhia's last film Shoot Out at Lokhandwala.

Things are fine between the two now. The ice was broken to quite an extent when Vivek attended Abhishek's grandmother Teji Bachchan's funeral last December. Things really improved between the two when Abhishek took the initiative and messaged Vivek on his wonderful performance at an awards function held in Bangkok early this month.
So, the stage is set for the dushman-turned-dost to rock. The item number will be shot in Mumbai in the next few days.

Anurag Kashyap seeing Kalki Koechlin

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap (Black Friday, No Smoking) is a happier man, not just because his films are being accredited worldwide but also because he has a special person in his life called Kalki Koechlin.
Anurag separated from his wife two years ago. Kalki is the parallel lead in Anurag’s Dev D in which she plays Chandra. Anurag and Kalki got close during the shoot of Dev D. Confirming the news, a close friend of Kashyap said that Anurag had gone through a tough phase on his personal and professional fronts for long. But life is smiling on him again and he’s a much happier man today. His relationship with Kalki has brought a spark in his life.
Anurag is a completely dedicated lover who waits for Kalki at Prithvi Theater (Juhu) where her play Hair, is being staged. He then picks her up everyday and the two often spend time together at suburban hangouts.
Kalki, originally from Bangalore, is a theatre actor born in India to French parents. She has graduated from London School of Drama.
Not only the couple but also their families are happy with their relationship. Kalki’s family knows that she and Anurag are more than just friends, whereas Kashyap’s wife and family members are unaware of the same. In fact, Anurag’s wife is happy that Kashyap has finally moved on after their separation and is happy for the two of them. Anurag is ready to take their relationship to another level, if all goes well. In fact, on Thursday late evening he made no bones about appearing with her in a public function.
He picked up Kalki from Prithvi Theatre and the two drove in together for the premiere of The Happening in a suburban multiplex, where he so sweetly carried her purse.

Singh is King starring Akshay Kumar

Producer Vipul Shah is making extra efforts to do everything right for his Akshay Kumar starrer Singh is King. The film requires some of the cast members to sport pagadi (turban), the way the Sikhs wear it. To make sure he does not go wrong and hurt sentiments, Akshay Kumar approached the head of the Sikh community in Melbourne and requested him to wrap the pagadi for him. Even while shooting in Australia, Shah took strict measures to keep the traditional aspects in place and avoid any misunderstanding or misrepresentation of the Sikh community.
After quite a long time, the hero in a film is shown to be a Sikh. Vipul got the heads of prominent Gurudwaras of Australian cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide to visit the film sets and advice Akshay on the look and the way they tie the pagadi.
It is under their supervision that their representatives tied Akshay’s turban. And not just Akshay, his entire gang of friends, played by Sonu Sood, Ranveer Shorey, Om Puri, Javed Jaffrey and Sudhanshu Pandey also got their pagadis tied by the Sikh representatives. Some prominent members of the Sikh community, like Dr Gurbachan Singh from the University of Mumbai, S Kulwant Singh from Sri Guru Singh Sabha, S Parbinder Singh from Sikh Brotherhood and Swaranjeet Singh from Sikh Media Watch, along with a few other authorities have approved the film after going through it and given it a green signal.

Bhagyawan is the story of an orphan child Amar who after meeting Dhanraj changes his luck. Dhanraj from a poor man turns to be a man of status in the society. Amar grows, as Police Inspector and is in love with Geeta. Geeta is a street girl, appears in various costumes, plays tricks with public and does comedy punches with brother partner Johny Bhai. Unfortunately, Amar is forced to leave Dhanraj’s house when Dhanraj’s misfortune follows. His older son Vishwas becomes business partner of Dhanraj’s enemy Hira, and his younger son Kishan runs away with Hira’s daughter Radha. Due to these set backs of life, Dhanraj’s wife Savitri dies. New Trend in Filmmaking

Shailendra Singh of Percept Picture Company (PPC) is all set to start a new trend in filmmaking. He is taking the entire crew, barring the leading ladies, of his upcoming film to Maldives for a trial shoot. Another reason for this weeklong trip is to get the cast and the crew familiar with each other. This trial shoot will help Shailendra to know if everything will fall in place when they actually start shooting the film in Maldives in September. This trip will cost PPC Rs 1.5 crore. PPC is all set to start work on the first of the three-film deal they have recently signed with Emraan Hashmi. The film, to be directed by Shamim Desai, has been tentatively titled Raftaar and co-stars Aditya Pancholi, Esha Deol and Neha Dhupia.
Shailendra Singh said that Raftaar is a film worth Rs 25 crore and belongs to a totally different genre from PPC’s earlier films. In Maldives, we will take care of the look of the film and it’s a great chance for everyone to get to know each other before we actually start shooting.
Johnny Depp stayed in a village for four months before starting work for Pirates of the Caribbean. Even our cricketers, before an important tour, have a 10 or 12-day camp in Bangalore for practice. Similarly, he is having a camp in Maldives, where they will start the actual shoot in September, after Emraan completes Raaz 2. Raftaar is a fast-paced film based on the media. Emraan of course is the lead actor. When quizzed about the expensive nature of the trial shoot, Shailendra said that it sure is an expensive process, but he prefers having an idea and visualize what’s in store for them when they actually shoot in September.
Talking about Percept Picture Company, Emraan Hashmi said that Shamim Desai is one of the most respected names in the advertising industry and he is glad that he is bringing in such an innovative idea to filmmaking. PPC is one of the most prolific production houses and since Shamim’s ideas are in sync with PPC, he is looking forward to the trip.
